Rumpus Weekends provides group-based programs for young people with additional needs on weekends. These programs have a focus on increasing social awareness skills, community participation, and independent living skills. We believe that through varied experiences young people have greater opportunities to more active engagement with their commuunities.

At Wild Rumpus we believe young people who have additional needs should have the opportunities to get out into their communities, have fun, and create social networks with their peers. We observe the participants we support gain confidence, develop friendships, overcome anxieties through facing new challenges, and gain a broader range of experiences and skills to use through their lifetimes.

Too often young people are forced to spend countless hours with parents, or engaged in isolating, dated 1:1 respite with a carer. We want to see people with disabilities forming friendships and having fun - Rumpus Weekends have been designed to do exactly this.

This is a group-based program, although there is some availability for young people who require individualised support. Wild Rumpus will do an assessment of the young person's level of need to determine how best to meet their support requirements, as well as ensure their safety.
